Grit + Grain is a tribute to the owners’ grandmothers: Mary and Ilene, who showed their love through cooking. Growing up in the South, shelling peas and pecans, cleaning collards, shucking corn on the front porch while sipping on sweet tea, and savoring the flavors of Sunday supper, was the way we connected with family and neighbors, and created memories around the table.  

Southern cooking for us is edible history. 

This is our humble attempt to embrace the essence of Southern food and highlight the unique ingredients of coastal Georgia. We promise to always serve our food fresh, just like Mary and Ilene.
